Really this is a legit question?

I try to help out politely and I get attacked.  I state the truth and people don't like it.

I like most of you but I am not sticking around for attacks from anyone.  No matter who you are.

Excuse me if I said this here or somewhere else.

Black Madeira is an internationally recognized name for whatever unnamed fig it is from Madeira Island that was given to UC Davis. Some of the foremost International authorities on figs have this variety and its 'Black Madeira' name has followed it along its way to them. They know it only by this name. This name has so permeated the lexicon of fig information that no one has yet to change the name association, even those of the greatest European authority.

Saw the post as well. I think that is why Newer members need to understand the importance of this because a few have been defrauded out of $100's.

I would say more but... I will just say this.

I wish this would stop especially with how I feel about the 'Black Madeira' Name being misused.  Just don't want there to be any confusion.

There are many in that region of Europe that don't need the wasp. A few have even survived -25 C ( -14 F).

Well I am looking forward to Valle Negra this year. The tips are just as red as Negretta. Some suggest may be the same as 600m and possibly Vallecalda.  Valle Negra and 600m may be cold hardier Vdb.

Ebay is your best bet.  When you get them, throw in a cup of water. What floats is hollow.  Scoop out and plant the rest.  But you are looking at very little chance of getting a common fig.  If I am not mistaken 95+% of it being Smyrna.

I have heard that Irish Spring Soap works well on deer and skunk.  You hang one bar on a tree limb.  Last for about 2 years.  They don't like the smell.
