I use to make sure I always put my forum name in my listing descriptions but as time went on it was left out more and more. I need to start again.

I only have one experience with them and it wasn't a bad one. I bought some maltese falcon cuttings from them and after I had them rooting I started to worry that they might not be real so I bought a small maltese falcon from bass and a larger bottom half of an air layer from a member here and the cuttings turned out to be exactly the same as the other plants I biught. Other then that I can't say.

I read up top where Vasile asked for someone in the south to chime in.
I've had this variety for a few years now, since you gave it to me when I bought my Nero 600m, Vasile.
My experience with it is not what it should be, I planted it too close to some fast growing trees that probably robbed this guy, lol. I did make a lot of air layers from all the bottom suckers or branches and each one would take off as soon as it's potted but my tree never made it to 3'. It did produce a couple figs last year and a couple this year that had a really distinct flavor, and about half of them were small but a few did get to a good size. I'm airlayering a nice whip to bring to my new place when I move at the end of Oct and hoping I can give it what it needs then. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I am really looking forward to trying them again when grown in the right conditions. Oh and some that did ripen was during rains and 100% humidity and they were still really good.

Ryan has sold me several trees and he shares the same passion that brings us all here. Accidents happen. I will continue buying from him as he is one of the best sellers on eBay. I just wanted to share some pictures of figs I was getting to try for the first time.. Did not think it would turn into this.

Thank you Brandon and sorry for the thread hijack.

Maybe I misunderstood your comment here. I took it to mean that Herman2 should not be involved in this discussion, and that was reinforced by more direct/open accusations elsewhere, where Herman2 may not see them. So I don't see that as respectful in the slightest.

You will have plenty of support no doubt from others who also borrow the reputation of others for a profit!

That was a typo, I meant that he should speak. I don't quite understand what you mean about borrowing someone 's reputation , though

I always thought it looked a little different but I just thought maybe that's just how it was, not until quite a few other sellers and collectors who all have the same as me from the same person told me we all have it wrong. I've said it a few times thay this fig is by far the best out of my whole collection this season so it deserves a good price and to be in everyone's collection so I sure don't want to affect anyone's sales especially Vasile in a bad way.
And I'm not asking for anyone to feel sorry for me because I am taking this opportunity to do what I love for a living. I just mentioned that so you would kniw that even if I wanted to I'm not in a situation to be anything but honest.

That wasn't done by me, this discussion is on 3 different sites and about 3 of the people trying to convince me that we all received a different variety added his initials, when I put it up top I said cddg (vs) as you'll call it on FB. And I even told vasile in the first pm thst they added his initials to the name.

I did not mention his name in public here until he stepped forth so to say I was dragging his name through dirt is the furthest from the truth, I never blamed him for the cuttings I shared and took full responsibility for that so don't ever say I'm dishonest, I've been sharing figs for many years and if I ever shared one that I thought had the slightest chance of something not right it was shared with a full explanation of why I thought so. Since I've been laid off from my oil field job 7 months ago my trees I am selling now is the only income to support my wife and young child so I have no reason to be dishonest, I am trying to make a good name for my self not a bad one. I've seen you pick fights with people in the past that you believe you can get over but don't confuse my kindness for a weakness. I am for sure too honest for my own good, you know nothing about me to make those assumptions. So before you start calling names like a Grammer school bully, look in the mirror. All these years this is the first time I am completely offended and the first time I take anything personal, and it's due to the bully saying complete lies, normally I'd brush it off but if you are trying call me dishonest so I can't sell my trees out of your own jelousy issues then you are targeting my family and there is nothing more personal then that. With in the next few months my nursery will be open but until then all I have is my sales and I've done NOTHING even remotely close to give you the reason to call me dishonest and childish.

And further more I was the ONLY one standing up for Vasile when numerous people was dropping his name in public I sure didn't until he made it known, so before you speak know the facts because THAT is childish.

Hold up hoossierbanana, I am not blaming no one for the cuttings I shared. Everyone who approached me about this fig that I shared with did get an apology from me. I am so picky when I handle my cuttings so I am 100% sure that every cddg I shared did in fact come from Vasile. I've seen some people only handle two varieties at one time and mix them up so I only work with one variety at a time. I've read so many arguments on here because of people mislabling figs and I vowed to not be part of the problem , yes I am new to selling on ebay, which started at the beginning of this season but I am not new to my passion. I sent vasile pics of the very first ripe figs from my tree and then a week or so ago when all this came about and I've tried rationalizing this and looking at it from all sides but when no less then 6 people tell me my fig is wrong all, with pics to prove it all i can do is say I'm sorry for sharing it as such but 100% for a fact, and beyond any doubts I can say this is the fig I received and how it was labeled. I stopped posting here because too many people here think they are above others. I try to be neutral and fair with everyone but don't talk about me like I'm an irresponsible child. I've tried telling the rest that this was real but the more I did the more pics proved otherwise.

One more thing I can add from the convo between my cddg (vs) and I is that he also said this is the cddg he got from Gene Hosey's orchard. I know figs can look widely different depending on climates and the time of the season. It may very well be wrong but I don't think we need to let him speak, I know a lot of my cddg figs have thick necks until they ripen.

I was gonna say what Leon said, Black Ischia. My Galicia negra has different leaves but my tree is in its first year so that can change, and from most pics I've seen the GN has a really dark interior, unlike any other. To be honest I haven't seen a ripe galicia negra in person so it's very possible I'm just spewing hot air, lol. What ever it is Dennis it is not your run of the mill fig and deserves the spot light. Good luck with it and keep us posted.

So with that said, the one on the right can be vdb but the one on the left looks to be too jagged around the edges, but that doesn't mean it's not possible.

I answered on fb, I said right. Since I made this post I've come to realize that all the long fingered leaf trees can put out single lobed leaves. Ives seen the single lobes on vdb, negronne, nero 600m, aubique petite, vista, raspberry latte, etc, etc.

Yes, I've noticed this. My RL was one o the fastest growing trees in my yard but the least productive. My tree is in its 3 rd season and about 8-10' maybe but only has 2 breba figs hanging on and 0 main crop.

This is one I'm looking foward to, I got my tree last season and it was a little thing. It put out one fig but didn't ripen well because it was so late. It grew well and has a few figs on it this year so I can't wait.

Thanks Dennis, those are pretty good figs, I never had this type but my dad had a good size tree like this and I thought they were pretty good but my dad wasn't crazy about them. He lives in central Louisiana about 30 or 40 min from Dalton durio and my dad's tree like this was the only one that would freeze to the ground every winter. Then every spring it would grow back more and more. The last year or two I was amazed at how much a fig tree could grow in one season after being froze to the ground. Every year the amount of shoots would almost double and they would grow so much longer. After I gave my dad all my extra fig tees the last few years he finally had enough of the brown turkey and pulled it out.  He's had a couple other young trees freeze back when it got real cold but that brown turkey would freeze to the ground weather it was a mild or harsh winter.

Hey Dennis, is this the brown turkey that sort of resembles Lsu purple in shape but more of a brownish color instead of the purple?

Thank you vasile, I'm glad you made this point again.  I've been reading alot lately where people think that nero 600m and vdb is the same exact fig. I know my vdb comes from nelson and his from Adriano and not edible landscape or ucd so I thought maybe my vdb was different because it does not look like my nero 600m  at all. The figs look alike but not the trees. I think nero 600m and vdb were traded under the same name like we've seen with,so many other figs in the past.

The taste is about the same IMO, but I haven't had many to compare yet. But like nelson stated it produces more brebas and the he gets most of his main crop to ripen in canada so it's a little earlier then vdb from edible landscape

Oh, ok Danny. For the first two years I had this tree all the leaves were long narrow skinny finger type leaves, just over the last couple years the leaves started to widen out but it's always had a red tent to it, a good number of my trees have the red is tent but I have to say that this one is the most red. This is probably the best tasting fig in my yard over maltese falcon and beauty, vdb, rdb, and so on. The first two years it didn't produce then it started making a couple and since then it put out a few more then the year before, I'm hoping this season it finally let's loose and puts out a lot.
