Igor, here is a pic of mine that I started on January 14, 2016. The tallest one on
the left is 3 feet 5 inches. No figlets as of yet. Glad to hear it doesnt need
the wasp. We will see next year about the fruit. Thanks again for the cuttings.

Dennis, I hang out "over there" mostly. It is just so stinking hot and dry here. Mid to upper 90's every day
and only 1.50 inches of rain since the beginning of April. I have given my in ground trees a drink its so bad.
Just hope it doesnt turn into another three year drought.

Thanks for all the good replies.

It seems as though my Pastiliere adheres to most of the comments here except for one.

We have definitely not had a cool or wet summer. It has been in the 90's every day for weeks and
zero rain. In fact we have had only 1.50 inches of rain total for the months of April, May and June.

I posted about this tree last year about the same issue. I am wondering if anyone else has this
tree with the same issue. It is a four year old tree in a 15 gal container that I obtained from Marius.
Its in the same ProMix HP potting mix, gets the same fertilizer as all the other trees along with
the same amount of sunlight and watering. As you can see the figs turn from green to the slightest
brown/orange and shrivel up and drop. The tree is producing a large crop that looks to be
in the 100 area but each one is following this same pattern. Its time for it to get its act together
because I dont have the time or space for it. As Martin use to say its time for it to go to the
"burn pile."

Subject: Removal of leaves from potted fig in fall to expedite moving inside for winter storage Replies: 17

This:

"Leaves are now sending sugars and other good stuff to the roots, where it will be stored, and then used when trees start up next spring as they break dormancy.  Let the leaves fall off naturally, then store your hardened-off, dormant trees in a cool shelter.  Nature knows best."

Herman, I believe this is a fourth year tree and it is doing very well.
It is much more productive and the growth is much better and producing fruit
After freezing back to the ground, whereas the mbvs was slow to grow and
no fruit ripen yet. It also did not split after 2.4 inches of rain Sunday.

Herman, thanks for the pics and info. My tree did the same this year and is loaded and it
came from you. I am also adding another along with a second Carini and Bethlehem Black.
They have performed like Malta Black.
