UPDATE:

Hi guys,

I could not wait more. So I have potted my first great rooted figs. They are the Patlican from turkey.
They dont need the wesp.
First I try to make my own soil mixture with soil, nature compost, pine bark and perlite.

Here one picture of the great rooting developing :)

And finally the place where I place the figs. It is a greenhouse.

@kk2210

How you have seen the rotting of the root oder cutting during the process in cups?
The roots were light brown day after day but the pocks are green and looks healthy.

Are they rotted or this is normal?

You scared me :)

Is it possible to see if a fig is self pollinating or not if I am looking on the fruit or other places?

I want to know because I want to get cuttings from Turkey. I have got friends there...

UPDATE:

Here are the latest pictures of my first fig cuttings. Now I have got rooting more varieties like Brunswick, Kadota..
I hope they dont rotted.

The substrate is slightly damp. I do not spraying it with water for now. I give the cups fresh air every day for 30 minutes.
I think if the sides of the cups have condensation and the figs are developing they dont need anything.
I don't have overflowing the cups with water when I have potting the cuttings in cups.

What do you think when I can I try to repotting the cuttings in pots? In two months?

Hi,

I have got a big wild fig which I have imported from turkey. Unfortunately this fig tree drops his fruits because the tree is not self pollinating I think. The fruits were big but inside the fruits there is no ripining.

Now my question is can I hang one branch of this fig to a self pollinating fig to get a better taste (Caprification?) or is the wild fig useless?

Thank you for your replies!

We have got  a lot of leave-compost in Germany every year.
The compost have many insects inside. Is it possible to mix this type of compost with perlite and vermiculite to use it for potting in gallon or figs do not love it?

I want to use it, because it is cheap and I can mix it everytime.

Thank you. I will do that.

I hope that they will not rotting.
I want to open the container every day for a few minutes and spray water on the surface. I hope that this measures will be enough.

What about a sunny place. Can I put the box on the southside in the sun or is that not recommendable?

Hello guys

I am a newbie in the world of figs. I live in Germany and love figs so much.
It is three weeks ago since I put my first cuttings in peat mos. Now a lot of them get roots.
Yesterday I put the rooted cuttings in transparent cups with a mixture of perlite and vermiculite.
The Cuttings are the "Patlican" from turkey. I want to prensent you my results:

FullSizeRender.jpg         FullSizeRender(1).jpg

First I have mixed my mixture with vermiculite and perlite. The mixture is light moist. I have sprayed the mixture and the roots a little bit with watter. Afterwards I have put the cuttings in a cup and spray water on the surface. The cups have holes on the buttom and on the side.

FullSizeRender(2).jpg

I put the figs in a closed container and put the container on the windowsill.

What about only 60% perlite an 40% vermiculite?

Is it better to mix perlite with potting soil for the rootingdevelopment in cups?
