This might be an amateur question, but do the red lebanese figs (both that were mentioned) need wasps to fruit??

Same thing happened to mine, tied a bamboo skewer along it and the main stem. Went out the other day couldn't find that skewer anymore, but the branch is holding up fine.

Ah, thank you!! I was watching this listing, but wasn't sure after reading about all the ebay scammers and stuff in the forum.

Hey everyone, I'm looking for Nero 600 cuttings. I had some before, but they didn't survive. I don't have anything to trade, but I'm willing to pay for them.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Yes! I felt they were too small to be mouse droppings. I'm thinking maybe the fungus gnats are getting smarter. They may be laying their eggs through the drainage holes, and the larvae are eating their way up?

I can't think of any other reason, other than maybe roaches, but I've done a thorough search and nothing on that front.

So I've been having my battle with fungus gnats, and have mostly gotten rid of them. I've set up a small styrofoam bowl with water and soap, and a fluorescent lamp right above it (about 3 in above the water). I keep it on at night when the lights are out, and the gnats seem attracted to the light and end up drowning in the water. This combined with bottom watering my plants has worked wonders, and  I think there may be 2 or 3 left.

Now today, I was looking at some of my cuttings, and I found something that might be droppings next to one of the drainage holes. I haven't a clue what they might be, so I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before. I've attached a picture next to a quarter for reference.

Thank you!

What about just using the gels and a heat source to generate the required humidity for the cuttings to root? Maybe put the cuttings in some sort of cylinder with holes and bury it in the beads?

Hi Everyone!

I've just found a pack of gel beads (the kind you soak in water, they absorb, expand), and was wondering if anyone has had any experience rooting their cuttings in this medium?

Pros?
Cons?

What about a feeding the beads a nutritive solution to give the plant an extra boost?

Any info would help!

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for authentic cuttings of Belleclare Atreano. I'm just starting out new with figs and have a couple under my belt now, but I'm looking for something a bit more. I've read up quite a bit on the Atreano, but it seems to now be hard to find out whether what I'm getting is authentic, and there are different types out there (Atreano, Atreano Gold, Atreano RR, Atreano FR).

If anyone has a source that they know to be authentic, or if anyone has cuttings available, I'd be willing to pay for postage and more.

This also goes for any cuttings that anyone has from other types of figs, as I'd like to expand my collection. Any advice on types that would be suited to my location is most welcome as well! (SE Michigan - Zone 6a/b)

This is my first post, I'm loving this forum! Thanks everyone!
