I got a green ishia from Walmart last year and it had two breba on it this year, I ate The first one, it looked just like your picture, a perfect match, I also thought I picked it to soon, so I waited on the next one to get sugar spots and get real saggy and soft, when I cut it in half it looked no different from the first one just a little sweeter, waiting on main crop now.

Leave it long, moist soil not drenched, moist air not hot and dry, if the leaves wither it means it doesn't have enuf roots to sustain it and there is a chance it may die, cut it in half, and try to root the top like you would a cutting. This would give you the best chance of survival.

If the cuttings have not fruited yet how can anyone determine what they are, or what they are not?? Leaf pattern (especially grown in a different climate) on young growing cuttings don't have the correct leaf pattern, sometimes for two years!
I have a VDB that has had only single and trilobed leafs for two years, it's just now getting the finger like five lobed leafs, although the fruit has been true to VBD.

Has anyone tried air injection technology in soil for fig trees or would it work for figs I know fig trees can't handle saturated soil. I may try this with one of my potted fig trees.
Search youtube for, Air injection technology for soil It's very interesting.

Thank you! I was thinking 10 feet, but I've never grown fig trees, so I wasn't sure, I need to keep the rows far apart enuf to bush-hog between em. I live in Haughton, it's north-east of Shreveport, Happy to meet a fellow fig lover in my neck of the woods.

Hello everyone, I have been reading all the post for several days now, it's very addictive, I have a 2 acre garden that hasn't been planted in several years, I will be planting fig trees on it in rows, I'm in zone 8, in north Louisiana. The few fig trees I have are starting to get leaves on them, I'm ready to plant them in ground, how far apart should I plant them so I can get the most out of my land. Thanks.
