Welcome.

Thank you for your service to our country.

You are a stones throw from me.
There are a number of members who live in Washington.

We were all new at one time. Great people, and such a wealth of information on this forum.

If you have been reading for a while you may have found the search feature, which is great so that when you begin rooting cuttings you can search "which way up" so you wont plant the cutting upside down.
Also, topics are pinned at the top, I would highly recommend reading.

Fig collecting can be very additive.  Start slow and figure out what you want.  There are so MANY varieties, it can be overwhelming .

You will want to start with what grows and produces well where you live.
For this area, one of those is the Desert King, of which I would be happy to give you one of my plants.
It is currently tucked away for the winter in the shop.  It will need to be up-potted  in the spring.

Wow! I thought I was all alone from WA. Thank you for the warm reception. Thank you for offering your plant. I can definitely pick it up anytime you are ready. PM sent.

Hello,

I just wanted to introduce myself to this forum as i am new. My name is Mike, I am currently stationed at Fort Lewis, WA and I have been active duty since I was 17 years old. I have been deployed a few times and have been to numerous places around the glove. I am now 37 and will retire in 2 years. That will be a little over 22 years in uniform. I have 2 boys, 10 and 7 years old and happily married.

I love to fish and hunt big game animals with my bow and lately I have been reading about figs in this forum and I am intrigue by this plant. I think i found me a new healthy hobby, I cant wait to begin and I am looking forward to the adventures ahead with Fig trees.

I see a lot of collectors on here are having a great time growing plants and posting the friuts of their labor. I hope to do the same. I am also hoping to interact and learn from this forum as I am student when it comes to Figs.

I have a confession to make... I have never in my life ever tasted fresh Figs before ( im sure that the Fig Newtons out of MREs dont even come close). I hope to grow my own trees and taste my very first fig ever. Happy new year to all of Figs4fun members!

If any of you have some cuttings/plants you want to share, I will be very happy to recieve them and begin this Fig adventure! Thank you in advance.
