SCfigFanatic sorry if I appear to be negative on the Sals C, that is not my intent.  I just prefer the Gypsy/Zingerella given my personal experience.  By the way once the Zingerella is established it grows like a weed.

Paully22, if the ripe fruit looks like the attachment I think you have the Sicilian Black which is my personal favorite.

As for the question whether the Sals Corleone, Weeping, or Gypsy/Zingeralla is the same, my answer is no.  As several folks indicated, growing conditions to include sunlight can have a profound impact on many things to include leave shape, fruit size and color.  Other differences is that the
Gypsy/Zingerella is far more reliable then the Sals C, has better flavor, is more prolific, sets fruit much earlier than the Sals C and the Zingerella fruit is a little smaller.  Lastly most of the Zingerella fruit has a gray skin coloration which I have never seen on the other suspected plants within this discussion.

I do not share the sources of my stock because of the potential backlash for that individual.  Suffice it to say my stock came from a reliable source that is a pillar in the fig community.

I hope this post helps!

I do not have an Improved Celeste O'Rourke, I only have the ICO "Not" the pictures that Herman posted are accurate for the ICO "Not."  They have a distinctive elongated neck and have a carmel brown color when ripe.  The really nice thing about the ICO "Not" is it is very easy to determine when they are ripe.  The unripe figs stick straight out and the ripe fruit droops dramatically.  By the way I acquired my orginal ICO "Not' from George.

The Improved Celeste "Not' O'Rourke is the best tree in my orchard without exception.

Cory is a rather special young man and in my opinion he is mature beyond his years.  He has actually given many of the plants he sells on-line to friends but he insists on them air-layering their own plants.  He likes teaching people how to do things themselves.  I guess he gets that nuturing attitude from Boy Scouts.

As for selling I don't do it.  I have traded with many folks on Jon's forum and the fig forum.  If you want to trade I will be happy to discuss it with you in private.

Out of respect for Jon and his incredible web-site I would rather not talk about selling plants or cuttings thru Cory.  If you would like to send me a private email I will put you in contact with him.

Very Respectfully

Vinnie

Just for clarity's sake the young man from West Virginia is my son Cory Johns.  He is selling the figs from my collection and a few extra plants that are in trail that I really don't know much about.  He air layers all the plants he sells with the exception of the plants that are extras from the plants in trail.  He is meticulous in the cloning and labeling process so you can be certain that what is advertised and what is received is one and the same.

The Farmer Johns Nursery label is nothing more than an attempt to prevent his photos from reappearing on other fig tree listings on ebay.  After his sales were over last year we found them on less than honest sellers listings as, "actual photo of the plants you get."

While this is my first post on this forum I have been a member for several years.  As for the fig forum I have been a contributing member for years before that.  Due to a career change my time is severely limited which has influenced my contributions on either forum.

Many members on both forums will attest that I don't personally sell anything.  I routinely give valuable plants to my friends and family.  This is my hobby and my young son idea on how to raise funds for higher education.
